One file at a time. It is split into separate documents. PDF files up to 100 MB each.
Your PDF is opened, edited and saved inside your browser. The file is never uploaded to our server.
Splitting covers two different jobs. One is mechanical — a 300-page report that has to become 300 single-page files, or a scan that needs breaking into ten-page chunks. The other is precise — pulling page 7 out of a contract, or pages 1-3 and 12-14 into a summary.
Both are here. Choose how many pages each file should hold, or name the ranges yourself, and the results come back together in a zip so you only download once.
How to use this tool
- Drop a PDF onto the drop zone, or choose one from your device.
- Choose how to split it. A file every N pages is the quick route: leave it at 1 to get one document per page, or set 10 to get ten-page chunks.
- Choose Specific page ranges when you want particular pages. Write 3 for a single page, 3-7 for a run of them, and separate groups with commas — for example 1-2, 5, 9-12.
- Press Split PDF. One result downloads directly; several arrive together in a zip.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I ask for a page that does not exist?
It is refused before anything is written, with the page number and the real page count, so you can correct the range instead of getting a truncated file.
Why does the result arrive as a zip?
Because browsers block a page from firing off dozens of downloads at once. If you ask for one range, or for one page per file and there is only one page, you get the PDF directly.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. Reading a protected file needs decryption, which is not implemented here, so the file is refused with that reason rather than failing halfway through.
Do the split files keep their quality?
Yes. The pages are copied into new documents rather than re-rendered, so each part is byte-for-byte the same page content as the original.
Where does the splitting happen?
In your browser, on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, so a confidential document never leaves your machine.
