These terms cover your use of this website and the tools on it. They are written to be read rather than to be impressive, and they are short on purpose.
1. These terms

2. What the service is
ToolDuck provides free browser-based utilities for working with images, documents, resumes and text. Most tools process your files entirely on your own device; where a tool sends anything to a server, it says so before it does.
The service is free and provided as-is. We do not require an account, and we do not charge for any part of it.
3. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights to anything you process with these tools. We claim no licence over your files, because in the ordinary course we never receive them at all. Where a tool does transmit something — the optional AI assistance, for example — it only ever sends the specific text involved, and the page tells you so before you use it.
4. What we ask of you
Please do not use this site to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- process material you have no right to process, such as someone else's document without their permission;
- attack, overload, scrape at volume, or attempt to gain access to parts of the site or its hosting that are not public;
- present the output of these tools as a professional service you provide, if doing so would mislead anyone about their origin.
5. No warranty
The tools are provided without warranties of any kind. We work to keep them accurate and available, but we cannot promise they will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and browser differences mean a tool can behave differently on different devices.
Check your output before relying on it. This matters most for the resume tools: where a scanned document has been read by optical character recognition, the text is a best guess at what the page said. Always review anything you intend to send to an employer.
6. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, including lost data, lost opportunity, or damage to a device. Because your files never reach us, we hold no copy of them and cannot be responsible for their safekeeping — please keep your own backups.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
7. Availability and changes
We may add, change, suspend or remove any tool at any time. We may also update these terms; when we do, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
8. Advertising
The site is supported by advertising. Advertisements are served by third parties and are clearly separated from the tools themselves. See our privacy notice for what those providers may collect; the tools themselves carry no tracking of your files.
9. Links to other sites
We link to other websites, including our own separate services. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we do not operate.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and disputes arising from them are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there.
