Whitespace has different jobs
Spaces separate words, tabs may indent code or align fields, and line breaks separate lines or paragraphs. A broad cleanup can alter those roles, so this tool exposes separate controls and keeps the input unchanged.
Unicode whitespace
Copied text can include non-breaking or other Unicode spaces that look similar to ordinary spaces. Use the Unicode whitespace options deliberately when text matching or line wrapping is the problem.
Frequently asked questions
Does the whitespace remover change indentation?
Only when you choose an indentation or leading-whitespace option. Review the output if whitespace is meaningful to code or tabular text.
Can it remove blank lines but keep line breaks?
Yes. In Custom cleaning, select Remove blank lines without selecting Remove line breaks.
