The Google Play sizes

  • Android phone 1080 × 1920 Most widely used
  • Android 7" tablet 1200 × 1920 Small tablet listings
  • Android 10" tablet 1600 × 2560 Large tablet listings
  • Feature graphic 1024 × 500 Exactly one size, no transparency

Taken from the store’s published specification, verified 5 October 2026. Every size above is a selectable target in the editor, and the export is rendered at exactly those pixels rather than scaled from a picture of the editor.

Start from a template

Every template is free and renders for every device listed above. Pick one, add your app screens, change the captions, and export.

Your app screenshots are read, composed and exported inside your browser. They are never uploaded to our server, and your project is saved on your own device.

A Play listing needs two things that look similar and are not: screenshots, which are per device type, and a single feature graphic that sits above them and is cropped differently wherever it appears. Making them in separate tools is how a listing ends up with a banner that does not match the screens beneath it.

Both are targets here, rendering from the same project with the same template, palette and typeface — so the banner and the screens are visibly the same product.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a Google Play target and pick the device: Android phone, or the 7" or 10" tablet size.
  2. Add your app screenshots, then edit the captions. Play shows up to eight per device type, so decide which two or three make the opening pitch.
  3. Switch the target to Feature graphic when you want the banner. The canvas becomes exactly 1024 × 500 and the safe area is marked.
  4. Keep the app name and one short line inside that safe area, and let the rest of the design be background.
  5. Export the screens and the graphic. They render at full size and arrive together in one zip.

The 2:1 rule, and why sizes look odd

Play caps the aspect ratio at 2:1 in either direction. That is generous enough that 1080 × 1920 and 1080 × 2340 are both fine, and tight enough that a very wide design is not. The feature graphic is the exception: one fixed size, 1024 × 500, and not subject to the screenshot rules at all.

Why the feature graphic has a safe area

Play uses the feature graphic in several places and crops it differently in each. A search result shows a different slice from a full listing, and a promotional placement shows something else again. Only the middle band is reliably visible.

That is why the editor marks the safe area rather than showing the full rectangle and hoping. Anything outside it will be cropped somewhere, so the app name and the explanatory line belong inside it.

Categories we do not offer yet

Google Play also serves Chromebook, Wear OS, Android TV and Automotive, and Android XR. None of them is offered as a target here, and that is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight: each has its own requirements, and shipping a size we had not verified would be worse than shipping one fewer size.

They are recorded in the specification configuration, so adding one when its requirements are confirmed is a single edit rather than new plumbing.

Frequently asked questions

What size should Google Play screenshots be?

Play accepts any size where each side is between 320 and 3840 pixels with an aspect ratio no wider than 2:1. 1080 × 1920 is the most widely used phone size and is the default preset here.

What size is the Google Play feature graphic?

1024 × 500 pixels, one per listing, PNG or JPEG, with no transparency.

How many screenshots can I upload?

Between two and eight per device type on Google Play, up to ten on the App Store. The editor enforces the limit for the store you have selected.

Why are Chromebook, Wear OS and Android TV not available?

Because their requirements have not been verified here, and offering a size we have not checked would be worse than offering one fewer size. They are recorded in the specification configuration so adding one later is a single edit.

Can I make the screenshots and the feature graphic in one project?

Yes, and that is the point. Switch the target between the phone, tablet and feature graphic sizes and the same template, palette and typeface carry across — so the banner and the screens match.
