Coming next

Previews arrive with the editor. The templates below are complete — their timings, scene order and validation are final, and every number shown is read from the template data itself. The renderer that turns a template into a playable video is the next part of this build, so there is no preview yet rather than a stand-in that would not match the result.

Each template accepts between 2 and 10 photographs. Photographs fill the slots in the order they are added, and any single slot can be replaced afterwards.

Designing runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded while you work. If you save a design to a ToolDuck account, that design and any image you choose to store are kept in your account, and you can delete either at any time.

A video template is a still template with a timeline. The compositions and the colour palettes are the ones the Social Media Maker already uses, so a video made here looks like the rest of the library rather than like a different product.

Every template states how many photographs it needs and how long it runs. Add that many images and the template places them in order, giving each scene its own entrance, its own exit and its own transition, and closing on a branded end card.

How to use this tool

  1. Find a template that matches how many photographs you have. The library is sorted by nothing artificial — each entry states its photo count, duration and canvas honestly, so you can pick before uploading anything.
  2. Note the format. A template renders at every canvas it lists, so one definition serves a 9:16 reel, a square post and a 4:5 portrait without being redrawn.
  3. The scene sequence is listed for each template, in order. That is the actual composition: which archetype opens, what it cuts to, and what the end card is.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use one of these now?

Not yet. The templates, their timings and their validation are complete and the numbers on this page are read from the template data itself, but the editor that renders them to a video and exports an MP4 is the next part of this build. This page exists so the library can be reviewed before that work starts.

How many photographs does a template need?

Between two and ten. Each template states its own number, and photographs are mapped to slots in the order they are added — the first image goes to slot one, the second to slot two. Any individual slot can be replaced afterwards.

Does one template work at more than one size?

Yes. The geometry is stored as fractions of the canvas rather than pixels, so a composition that works at 1080 × 1920 also works at 1080 × 1080 or 1920 × 1080. That is why the library has thirty templates rather than thirty per aspect ratio.

Will the video be a screen recording of the browser?

No. The export is generated from the template and scene data, and encoded on the server, so the downloaded file is a real MP4 at the dimensions the template states.
