Parsing and code generation run entirely in your browser — your tokens, passwords, endpoint URLs, and API payloads are never uploaded to any server.
cURL is the universal language of API documentation and network debugging, but reading long, multiline shell commands with escaped quotes and backslashes is painful. This parser deconstructs any cURL command into its core HTTP building blocks: Method, Protocol, Host, Path, Query Parameters, Headers, Authentication, and Body.
Everything is color-coded for instant human readability. JSON payloads are automatically formatted with syntax highlighting, Basic and Bearer auth credentials are surfaced with reveal toggles, and commands can be exported directly into JavaScript fetch, Node.js axios, Python requests, PHP cURL, and Go net/http.
How to use this tool
- Paste any cURL command into the input box above, or click one of the pre-loaded example buttons.
- Review the color-coded HTTP method badge (GET in green, POST in blue, PUT in amber, DELETE in red) and inspect the segmented URL path and decoded query parameters.
- Inspect HTTP headers, authentication tokens, and formatted JSON payloads with full syntax highlighting.
- Choose a target programming language tab (Fetch, Axios, Python, PHP, Go) and copy the generated snippet for your codebase, or click "Compare Two cURLs" to diff it against another request.
Frequently asked questions
How does the cURL parser handle multiline commands and shell quotes?
The parser features a dedicated shell tokenizer that handles line continuation backslashes (\), Windows cmd carets (^), PowerShell backticks (`), single quotes ('...'), double quotes ("..."), and escaped quotes. It normalizes arguments exactly like a terminal interpreter.
Are my API keys, tokens, or private endpoint URLs secure?
Yes. All parsing, tokenization, JSON formatting, and code generation take place entirely inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. Nothing is sent to our servers or any third party, making it safe for production credentials and sensitive endpoints.
Which programming languages can I convert cURL commands to?
You can export parsed cURL commands directly into JavaScript ES6 (fetch), Node.js (axios), Python (requests), PHP (curl_init), Go (net/http), and cleaned single-line or multi-line cURL syntax.
Does it format and validate JSON request bodies?
Yes. If your cURL command includes a JSON payload (via -d, --data, --data-raw, or --json), the tool validates the JSON, displays syntax-highlighted keys and values, and allows you to toggle between prettified (indented), minified, and raw views.
Can I compare this cURL command against another one?
Yes. Click the "Compare Two cURLs" tab or the compare button in the toolbar to immediately load this command into our side-by-side cURL Compare tool.
