The size, and where it comes from

Instagram Carousel

A sequence of portrait slides, swiped in order. Every slide uses the same canvas size.

1080 × 1350 · 4:5

Checked 6 October 2026

Every slide of a carousel is the same size, so a sequence reads as one design. These templates are built so the text sits in the same place on each slide, which is what stops a swipe from looking like a jump.

How to use it

  1. 1 Start from a template or a blank canvas 100 templates suit this format. The editor opens with one already applied if you pick it from the library.
  2. 2 Edit the wording Click any text on the canvas and type over it. The type shrinks to stay inside its box, and the editor tells you if a headline is too long rather than clipping it.
  3. 3 Add your image Drag a photograph onto the canvas or use the background panel. It is fitted without stretching, and it is not uploaded.
  4. 4 Download PNG or JPEG at 1080 × 1350 · 4:5, at exactly those dimensions, with no watermark.

What you can change

  • Every piece of text, including the kicker and the call to action
  • Typeface, weight, size and colour
  • Background — solid, gradient, or your own image
  • Your own image, moved and zoomed inside its frame
  • Layer order, so anything can go in front of anything
  • A different size at any point without losing your work

Nothing is locked

There is no PRO tier in this tool. Every template that exists is available, at full resolution, with no watermark and no export limit. Where a template suits several formats — a square post and a portrait post, or a portrait post and a story — all of them are offered rather than one being held back for a paid plan.

Your images are read, composed and exported inside your browser. They are never uploaded to our server, and your designs are saved on your own device.

A carousel is a sequence, and a sequence has a problem a single post does not: if the text moves between slides, the swipe looks like a mistake. Carousel templates here place the kicker, the headline and the body in the same position on every slide, and carry a slide number, so a sequence reads as one design being revealed rather than several designs in a row.

Slides are 1080 × 1350 — the same size as a portrait post. That is deliberate: a carousel and a portrait post can be made from the same template, so a campaign does not need two designs.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a carousel template. Its first slide opens in the editor with the sequence controls beside the canvas.
  2. Write the slides in order. Each slide carries its own text, which is why the templates show a slide number rather than repeating the same heading.
  3. Keep the safe margins. Anything within about 4% of an edge risks being trimmed by the feed, so the templates hold their type well inside that.
  4. Export the slides. Each is rendered at 1080 × 1350 and numbered in order.

Frequently asked questions

What size are Instagram carousel slides?

1080 × 1350 each, the same as a portrait post. Every slide must be the same size for the carousel to show correctly, which is why the size is set for the sequence rather than per slide.

How many slides can a carousel have?

Instagram allows up to twenty images in one post. There is no limit in the editor, but a carousel is usually strongest at three to seven slides — enough to make a point, few enough that people reach the end.

Should every slide use the same layout?

It should use the same type placement, which is what these templates do. Varying the colour or the image between slides is fine; moving the headline is what makes a swipe feel broken.

Can I export all the slides at once?

Not yet — each slide is downloaded individually in this release. Exporting a numbered set in one go belongs with the project and export work, which is the next piece of this product.
